Kigari FCS started in 1999 with a mission to support local coffee farmers throughout Meru County in central Kenya. Currently, the Kigari FCS is comprised of 1,048 farmers who grow along the volcanic foothills of Mount Kenya.
Processed at the Thagu wet mill, handpicked cherries collected from various Kigari FCS farmers are sorted to remove any that are underripe or overripe. Then they are pulped and fermented before sun-drying on raised beds.
