Ethiopia Natural Sonkolle Kallato

Known as the “King of Guji,” Ture Waji has an extensive background managing coffee farms and working with local producers throughout the Guji zone in southern Ethiopia. This lot comes from a project called Green Spring that he's been working on throughout the past few years with fellow producer, Mike Mamo. Together, they've been able to carefully produce a delightfully jammy coffee that we are excited to have on our menu. Grown at some of the highest altitudes, 2,200 to 2,350 meters, the coffee cherries picked for this lot were able to grow and mature slowly, creating higher levels of sweetness and fruit notes. Additionally, the coffee varieties that make up this lot, Gibirinna 74110 and Serto 74112, are both disease-resistant to CBD, "coffee berry disease," which is a fungal pathogen known as one of the worst coffee tree diseases, especially in African countries.
