The coffee is sorted at the dry mill before sent to the processing facility to undergo the decaffeination process.\r\n\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\r\nThe EA process is also known as sugarcane process; as the sugar from, well sugarcane, is fermented to create ethyl alcohol and then mixed with acetic acid. This creates ethyl acetate. The green coffee seeds are steamed to remove the skin and soaked in ethyl acetate multiple times to lower the caffeine levels in the coffee seed.
